A dietitian is an expert in food and nutrition. Dietitians are professionals with the qualifications and skills to provide dietary advice on nutrition-related matters, help to promote healthy eating habits and develop specific diets for people. They also supervise the preparation and service of food, develop modified diets, participate in research, and educate individuals and groups on good nutritional habits.

As part of the multidisciplinary team, the Clinical Dietitian at KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital works closely with the doctors, nurses as well as allied health professionals to provide a holistic approach for all patients. From outpatient consultation to bedside inpatient counselling, the dietitian of KPJ Sabah Specialist Hospital plays a vital role in providing dietary management for medical conditions such as:

Our Clinical Dietitian also liaises with Food Service Dietitian of the kitchen to ensure fresh and good quality meals are served for our in-house patients. Therapeutic meals are also provided to suit individuals with different requirements.
